Here is a picture of probably the best remaining B-58. It is located inside the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio. See how it shines. The pod has been painted gray. Sitting there is the small version of the Bendix Trophy that this plane flew on March 5, 1962 from Los Angeles to New York City in 2 hours and 56.8 seconds with an average speed of 1214.17 miles per hour. Earlier in 2000, this plane started leaking fuel and it was discovered that it still contained about 200 gallons of fuel and had to be removed.
